The clock is ticking down on this January transfer window and Celtic fans are seriously worried by the club’s lack of incoming activity.
Nicolas Kuhn remains the only permanent arrival this month after he was recruited from Rapid Vienna for a reported £3m.
The Hoops are on the hunt for a left-back due to Greg Taylor’s recent injury, with Alexandro Bernabei – who Brendan Rodgers clearly doesn’t fancy – the only senior option available for that position at the moment.
Frustratingly, there is absolutely no sign of a full-back addition being in the offing with just hours to go before the window shuts for good until the summer.
What we do know is that Norwich City striker Adam Idah is in Glasgow ahead of a loan switch to Celtic. It is believed the deal will be a straight loan with no option to buy the 22-year-old Irishman.
Celtic icon Chris Sutton offered his take on Celtic’s pursuit of Idah and wasn’t too optimistic in his assessment. He said: “If this is true I’m not sure with the greatest respect it’s an upgrade on Oh.
“Idah needs to get away from Norwich and has potential but has had potential for years but he’s 100% in the development category and a long way from the finished article.”
And it seems another former Celtic player Mark Wilson, speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard on transfer deadline day, isn’t too convinced by Idah’s credentials.

Adam Idah has scored just 17 goals in 115 games for Norwich City since 2019 [Transfermarkt] and doesn’t seem to align with Brendan Rodgers’ plea for ‘quality’ signings this January.
The forward is still relatively young and cannot be fairly judged before he’s kicked a ball for Celtic but Mark Wilson isn’t too sure about the prospective Hoops addition.
Wilson said live on the radio: “Even if it was an exciting loan, which I’ve got to say, on paper doesn’t look like it at this moment in time…
Host Gordon Duncan then interjected saying Idah, as we’ve mentioned above, needs to be given a chance first. Wilson then continued: “Yes, of course you have. But just looking at Idah’s stats over the past three or four years, he doesn’t look like an out-and-out goalscorer.
“And that’s what the fans want. If you are bringing a striker into Celtic, you want to see a guy who has a reputation for scoring goals. He may prove us wrong.
“There’s been no real investment apart from (Nicolas) Kuhn and of course, that is going to disappoint Celtic fans.”
