Transfer Deadline Day update emerges on Everton midfielder with Saudi club Al-Ettifaq keen
Saudi club Al-Ettifaq are now unlikely to sign Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure on transfer Deadline Day as his hamstring issues may have dampened their interest, per the Liverpool Echo.
The reliable news outlet reported on 1 February, that he’s extremely important to Sean Dyche and the Toffees are unlikely to allow him to leave.
The 31-year-old has made 18 Premier League appearances this season, scoring six goals and providing an assist.
Doucoure has been exceptional since Dyche has arrived and the manager will not want to let go of his prized asset.
Not only has he been an extremely energetic presence in the middle of the park, he’s contributed with goals and assists too.
He’s also been tremendous as playing just behind the striker and disrupting the opposition plays so his importance to the team cannot be stated enough.
While Saudi leagues do not have the lure in terms of quality, they certainly do in terms of finances and that tempts many players to jump ship.
There is no indication of that being the case with Doucoure and he seems happy to stay at Goodison Park and fight for his spot in the team.
Whether or not an offer comes in, remains to be seen, but his recent injury makes the likelihood of that outcome considerably less.
