Injured Spurs player spotted in on-pitch training already – Wasn’t meant to be back until March
Alejo Veliz posted an Instagram video of himself training on grass yesterday, which could indicate an early return for the injured Tottenham player.
Tottenham are short of senior numbers when it comes to out-and-out strikers, especially since Harry Kane left the club for Bayern Munich in the summer.
While Heung-min Son and Timo Werner can both play as a number nine, Richarlison is arguably the only senior centre-forward at Ange Postecoglou’s disposal in N17.
That has seen the likes of Alejo Veliz, and now Dane Scarlett, handed opportunities off the bench in the latter stages of matches. In fact, the Argentine scored off the bench in a 4-2 defeat against Brighton before picking up an injury days later versus Bournemouth.
Veliz was seen leaving the stadium on crutches that day and The Evening Standard recently reported he was not expected to return until March.
However, Spurs may be boosted by an early recovery as the youngster posted a video of his on-pitch training session yesterday.
Great to see Alejo Veliz back on the grass stepping up his return 👏

Having a full squad back fit can only be a good thing for Postecoglou and Spurs. Not only will it be a boost on the pitch, but it will also give him a chance to keep working with the fringe players in order to improve their understanding of his tactics.
