West Ham should be very worried about losing one player to Liverpool and it’s not Bowen

West Ham United have one player in particular who Liverpool could come knocking for in the summer, and it’s not Jarrod Bowen.

Jarrod Bowen is an alleged transfer target for Liverpool, should Mohamed Salah leave Anfield, but it’s another player West Ham need to worry about in my opinion.

Mohammed Kudus has been in sparkling for for West Ham so far this season, and he is clearly drawing admiring glances from all over the Premier League.

Hammers boss David Moyes brought both Bowen, 27, and Kudus, 23, to the London Stadium, and they are serious, serious players.

It’s a toss of a coin as to which player has been better for West Ham this season. Bowen has 14 goals and five assists to his name in 26 games, whilst Kudus has bagged 10 goals and one assist in 24 outings (Transfermarkt).

The Englishman and the Ghanaian have formed part of our dangerous attacking trio alongside Lucas Paqueta this season.

It will be no surprise whatsoever if one of the Premier League giants come knocking for either player in the summer, Liverpool obviously being one of them.

However, I believe we may face a harder fight to keep Kudus than Bowen…

I believe that Kudus may well be harder to keep out of Liverpool’s grasp than Bowen this summer.

If Salah does end up leaving Anfield for the riches of the Saudi Pro League in the summer transfer window, is there a better replacement for him than the Ghana international? Probably not.

I’m not saying that Liverpool wouldn’t want Bowen, because Jurgen Klopp is a well-known admirer of the 27-year-old Hammers winger.

I just feel like the former Hull City ace is very settled in East London, and as long as we are able to match his ambition, I see no reason why we can’t keep him at the club for the rest of his career.

Kudus is a completely different story in my opinion though. He obviously only joined us in the summer but he is such an electric player, and he can go on to become one of the very best players in the world as far as I’m concerned.

The thing is, he’s four years younger than Bowen as well, and I can see Klopp favouring a more long-term replacement for Salah.

The Ghana international probably has close to another decade playing at his peak, whilst the Englishman maybe has another five years or so.

West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen is an exceptional footballer, and would undoubtedly be a solid addition for Liverpool. Is he the world-class standard that Klopp requires though? That is very much up for debate.

Meanwhile, Kudus is pretty much at the elite level in my view, and I reckon Liverpool may well come knocking for him in the summer if they sell Mo Salah.
