‘Good News’: When Jarrod Bowen is now expected to return from injury for West Ham United

The Hammers forward was helped off the pitch in the final moments of the FA Cup third-round clash.

Bowen has been West Ham’s most influential player in the final third this season, having netted 14 times in 26 games.

And despite fears over the extent of the injury he picked up over the weekend, it seems the West Ham forward could be back in action within two to three weeks.

This will be a huge boost for David Moyes after news broke yesterday that Lucas Paqueta is facing two months on the sidelines with a calf injury.

West Ham have enjoyed an exceptional start to the season and currently make up the top six.

But if they were to lose Bowen and Paqueta for an extended period, that would significantly damage their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.

While the news regarding Paqueta’s injury is worse than initially feared, losing Bowen for a shorter period should soften the blow somewhat.

Nevertheless, the injuries may well force West Ham into the market this month. Moyes will be keen to build on a promising first half of the campaign and Paqueta’s absence will be felt massively.

The Brazilian continues to impress at West Ham and has provided real quality in midfield, as well as off the left-hand side.

The Hammers have been linked with moves for a host of attackers but are yet to do any business in January.
