Everton interested in Tottenham ace Eric Dier as ‘shock’ Bayern Munich stance shared
Dier has fallen out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since Ange Postecoglou arrived and has been tipped to depart this month.
Bayern are said to be putting together an offer to tempt Dier to join, whereas Everton’s interest is not as concrete at this stage.
Dier may not be getting much of a look-in at Tottenham, but he is a very experienced and versatile player who has more than proved his worth over the years.
The England international was a regular for Spurs for nine Premier League seasons up until 2023-24. While his levels have dropped off over the past couple of years, a change of environment could do him the world of good.
Given that Dier is out of contract at Tottenham in the summer, he should be available for an affordable sum this month. Everton are not exactly in a position to splash huge amounts on a player, so this is a move that would make sense.
Dier can play in holding midfield, where Everton may have to replace Amadou Onana at the end of the campaign, and also in the heart of defence.
Bayern look to be serious with their interest, and it would be hard for Dier to say no to the German heavyweights, but Everton should at least consider an approach.
