“Exciting”: Agent now compares 18-year-old Crystal Palace target to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, hints at future move
Crystal Palace have recently been linked with Swedish starlet Roony Bardghji, and his agent has now spoken about his future.
The striker recently scored a dramatic winner for FC Copenhagen against Manchester United in the Champions League, and has exploded into life in Denmark.
The 18-year-old winger has scored 11 goals in 25 games across all competitions this season, and was linked with a move to Palace, as the club may look to snap up another promising talent.
His agent has now dropped a hint over his future, and compared the starlet to Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Roony Bardghji’s agent makes Ibrahimovic comparisons
Speaking via Fabrizio Romano, Bardghji’s new agent claimed that the 18-year-old is one of the most exciting prospects in world football.
“He’s one of the most exciting talents in the world and also the future of Swedish football since Zlatan, it’s natural that he is being monitored by major clubs,” he stated.
“It’s too early to say now (about his future)… but one thing is for sure — you’ll get used to seeing Roony perform on the biggest stage.”
Given that the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Alexander Isak have broken through as Premier League stars in recent years, for Bardghji to be touted as the next biggest talent is a huge compliment.
Although Crystal Palace have Michael Olise as a right-winger, signing Bardghji as a player who can both appear for the first team now as well as an option for the future could be a good move for Palace.
Dougie Freedman has an eye for top young talents, and Palace also have Matheus Franca on the books, whose potential looks unclear in his early stages at the club.
However, any deal for Bardghji should perhaps be delayed until Palace can strengthen their first team sufficiently. Whilst securing a top talent like Bardghji could reap dividends in the long term, Roy Hodgson’s side does have a few areas that need reinforcements.
