Everton unlikely to meet £30m Leeds United asking price for Jack Harrison – Paul Brown
Paul Brown has said that he doesn’t believe that Everton will meet Leeds United’s £30million asking price for Jack Harrison at the end of the season.
The Toffees signed the English winger on a season-long loan this summer and he has impressed in the early stages of his career at Goodison Park, picking up a goal and three assists in his first six Premier League appearances this season.
It has been reported that it would take £30million for the Whites to allow Harrison to depart Elland Road permanently and former Daily Star journalist Brown doesn’t believe that the 26-year-old is worth that much to Everton.
Speaking to GiveMeSport (11 November) he said: “It wouldn’t surprise me if Leeds were to ask for that. I suspect that in the current market, they do believe he’s worth that. But the problem is that he probably isn’t worth £30m to Everton because they don’t have £30m to spend on one player right now.
“Everything will depend on what happens with the takeover, the finances, whether Everton are punished, whether they stay in the Premier League. Everything is up in the air at the moment and it’s very hard to predict what kind of budget Everton will have.
“I think by next summer, things will become clearer but I can’t see, in the current situation, Everton spending £30m on Jack Harrison.”

Decision to make
Everton’s current financial situation has been well documented, with the Toffees unable to spend large transfer fees under the ownership of Farhad Moshiri, so it should come as little surprise that they wouldn’t be able to match Leeds’ £30 million asking price.
But a lot can change between now and the end of the season and should 777 Partner’s takeover be completed, the American investment firm should have the resources to help Dyche add Harrison’s services to his squad permanently.
The 26-year-old has been integral to the Toffees’ upturn in form in recent weeks, providing an attacking threat from the right flank not only in terms of his own output in front of goal but also in terms of getting the best out of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Whether or not Leeds are promoted could have a huge impact on this potential transfer as well, as you would imagine Daniel Farke’s side would be forced to lower their valuation should they remain stuck in the Championship.
