Crystal Palace set to reignite interest in ‘special’ £30m target ahead of January
Crystal Palace could be ready to reignite their interest in one of their forward targets from the summer transfer window.
Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace currently sit in 13th in the Premier League and have scored just 8 goals in the league so far this season.
The goals have been hard to come by for the Eagles and the club could be ready to rekindle their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike.
According to a report from French outlet Foot Mercato, Hodgson’s side could be ready to move for the young forward but may well face competition from their London rivals.
The report from the French outlet claims that the Eagles may well have a second chance to be able to sign one of their first-choice striker targets come January, who has been described as a special talent.
Paris Saint-Germain, who signed the forward from Reims just last summer, are seemingly keen on offloading the young forward which could see the Eagles enter the race for the 20-year-old, again.
The report also goes on to say that an unnamed Premier League side are ‘very interested’ in making a move for the forward and could sign him at a cut-price deal.

Palace’s need for goals
As mentioned, the Eagles have just eight goals to their name in the league this season, only basement-dwelling Sheffield United have scored less goals this season with seven.
It may not be as simple to say that adding a new striker will solve all of their goalscoring problems but it would certainly go a long way to aiding their profligacy moving forward.
Adding the young forward, who showed promise and potential during his time with Reims, would certainly be a huge risk but come January it may well be a risk worth taking if Hodgson’s side struggles in front of goal continue.
