Simon Jordan doesn’t believe Everton will receive a points deduction after yet more troubling news has emerged.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday (26 October, 11:05am), the pundit said he has “mixed emotions” about what the independent commission will do after the Premier League has recommended the Toffees are hit with a 12-point deduction following their alleged breach of spending [The Telegraph].

He believes they are more likely to be given a suspended points sentence and a financial sanction if they are found guilty following their court hearing.

“I don’t believe there will be a 12-point sanction,” said Jordan. “I have mixed emotions about what they will do. I’ve always felt that they will probably give them a suspended points sentence and a financial sanction.”

Waiting game

It’s now just a waiting game to see how the independent commission decides to deal with Everton if they are found guilty of the alleged financial breaches.

The Premier League seems to be intent on a precedence being set after recommending that the Toffees be given a 12-point deduction, which would deal a blow to their hopes of survival this season.

The league appears to be taking the matter very seriously and it probably wants a message to be sent out to all the other clubs that they will be dealt with in a similar manner if there are any future breaches.

But that is why the commission has been formed to provide balance to the situation and decide how the Blues should be dealt with in this individual case.

Jordan is a fairly clued-up man in matters that are going on within the footballing world, especially in terms of financials, so the fans will be hoping he’s right about the punishment if the club are found guilty.
