: Deal Done ! Boston Celtics sign former NBA No. 3 overall pick ……✅

The Boston Celtics are reportedly in the process of signing a new big man

The Celtics signed former LA Clippers big man Wenyen Gabriel to a training camp contract. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Boston Celtics signed Wenyen Gabriel to a training camp deal after trading Jrue Holiday for Robert Williams. Gabriel will compete for a roster spot in training camp as the Celtics now need more front court depth.

Gabriel spent four years in the NBA playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, LA Clippers, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers and Brooklyn Nets. Gabriel’s shortest stints came with the Clippers and Nets, playing in just six games in LA in 2021-22 and just one in Brooklyn this year. While the 6’9″ big man has rebounded a lot in his short career, he has had some nice flashes that the Celtics hope to see in training camp.

The NBA landscape has changed a lot over the last couple of days and may continue to do so until training camp begins on Tuesday. With James Harden still not traded and Malcolm Brogdon expected to be traded again, there are a few more potential moves on the horizon that could happen soon.

Right now players like Gabriel have a chance to reveal spots to teams in camp that need to be filled before the start of the new season.
