Pundits disagree on Tottenham vs Liverpool score prediction as Jurgen Klopp given injury boost.
Tottenham are set to face Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend as both sides look to continue their unbeaten start.
Ange Postecoglou has been boosted by the news that James Maddison and Son Heung-min took part in training ahead of Saturday’s fixture.
Speaking ahead of the game, Postecoglou said: “Madders and Sonny [Son Heung-Min] trained today, they got through it, and we’ll have to see how they pull up. It’s been a fragmented week of training.”
Liverpool have also been handed their own injury boost following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s recovery from a hamstring issue. It’s expected to be a fiery affair at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend and former Spurs and Reds striker Robbie Keane has predicted the clash to end in a score-draw.
Speaking to Betway, Keane said: “Looking ahead to the Liverpool game, it’s always a tough game playing against them. They get after teams and play in a similar way to Spurs.
“They don’t have as much possession as Arsenal like to have, but when you have players like Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, you’ve always got a chance of winning any game. I think it’ll be a tough game for Spurs, but a really good one to watch.
“It’ll be two teams going for it. Even if they manage to get three points against Liverpool, it’s still early doors in the season.
“It’s good to see fans being ambitious, but I don’t think we can judge any team on where they might finish or if they can mount a title challenge yet. I think for Tottenham to finish in the top four would be a huge step for the club and the manager, so let’s think about that first.
“They haven’t won a trophy for a long time, so I think that’s the challenge. In terms of the title race, I think Manchester City are still the favourites with Arsenal and Liverpool challenging.
“It’s not impossible for Tottenham to challenge, but I think it might be a stretch too far at this moment. My prediction for the Liverpool game is that there will be goals. It should be exciting. If I had to go for a score, I’d say 2-2 and sit on the fence.”
Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is slightly more optimistic than Keane’s prediction ahead of the Premier League clash – tipping Tottenham to win 3-1 against Klopp’s side. Speaking to Premier League Odds, Redknapp said: “I can’t wait for this one.
“I’ve loved what I’ve seen from Spurs this season. I had a feeling the Spurs fans would take to big Ange but I didn’t think it would be this quick.
“They showed so much character against Arsenal last week, they would have lost that game in previous seasons. Liverpool have won five in a row, I really like what I’m seeing from them.
“This squad looks revitalised, they’ve done some good business in the summer. Don’t ask me to pronounce his name but Szoboszlai looks like a top, top player to me! What a fantastic goal that was against Leicester, it was like watching Steven Gerrard.
“I’m picking Spurs here though. The club seems revitalised, I’m saying 3-1.”
