Simon Jordan believes Tottenham Hotspur may be the ideal destination for Ivan Toney if the England international leaves Premier League outfit Brentford in 2024.
Having spent a decade as the chairman of Crystal Palace, Simon Jordan knows from experience what this tends to mean.
Ivan Toney, according to The Times, recently changed his agent. And with his Brentford contract expiring in less than two years time, amid interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and co, Jordan believes that all the signs are pointing to an inevitable departure.
“If you have changed your agent to be able to achieve an outcome… In my opinion, based upon my experience, the bottom line is he’s changed agents to anticipate a move,” Jordan tells talkSPORT (27 September, 11am).
With neither Spurs, Arsenal nor Chelsea boasting a prolific number nine between them, the potential availability of a man who plundered 20 Premier League goals last season is unlikely to pass any of the London giants by, even if Brentford are likely to demand at least £60 million for a man who hasn’t kicked a ball since May due to an FA-imposed ban for breaching betting rules (The Mirror).
“He is going, and the reason is that it’s very rare you see a top-class centre-forward become available in the January transfer window. So there’s a rarity to that little beast,” Jordan adds, identifying Spurs as potentially the most suitable destination.
“I quite like him for Tottenham. I think he would be a signing for Tottenham but it begs a question what would happen for Richarlison in that respect.”

Strong and physical yet as much a number ten as he is a number nine, Toney feels like the ideal candidate to fill a Harry Kane-shaped hole in Ange Postecoglou’s frontline, even if Heung-Min Son has shouldered the burden quite impressively himself in recent weeks.
