Liverpool transfer news – Bruno Guimaraes release clause, Ben Doak contract, Piero Hincapie interest
The Reds are gearing up for another busy week, which begins with a trip to Austria on Thursday evening to face LASK Linz in the Europa League.
Jurgen Klopp will be hopeful of a promising start to life back in Europe’s second-tier competition as he aims to secure the only trophy missing during his Anfield reign.
On a transfer front, Liverpool are said to be in ‘advanced talks’ for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie. The Ecuador international was a player Klopp’s side were linked with during the summer window, though it remains to be seen whether or not this reported interest develops into anything more serious in January.

Liverpool under-21s pick up their first ever EFL Trophy win as they beat League Two side Morecambe. It’s a massive result for Barry Lewtas’ side as they return to form after their defeat to Middlesbrough in Premier League 2.

CONFIRMED: Ben Doak signs long-term Liverpool deal
Ben Doak has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool.
The 17-year-old has six appearances with the Reds since signing from Scottish Premiership side, Celtic.
Doak has impressed for Jurgen Klopp’s side and was introduced as a late substitute in the Premier League opener against Chelsea, after enjoying pre-season with the first-team. He has been registered in the Europa League squad and it’s expected he will get chance to impress in the competition.

You’re in luck! Liverpool under-21s take on Morecambe in their first Papa John’s Trophy encounter.
The Reds are looking for their first win in the competition after failing to come out on top in their previous 12.
It’s a chance for the youngsters to get competitive experience against Football League clubs, with Blackpool and Barrow also in the group alongside Liverpool. As well as this, they have the opportunity to showcase their talents in the bid to move further up in the system to the first-team or score a loan move to gain some invaluable experiences.
Fans can watch the game on Shrimpers TV for a fee of £10.

Dominic Szoboszlai wins first Liverpool award
What a way to make a first impression, Dominik Szoboszlai.
There’s always high hopes for any new signing, especially when one trots through the door after the club has just triggered a £60m release clause.
But the Hungary captain has done just that. He has become a much-loved figure at Liverpool and it has only been five games.
Additionally, he has just won the first Standard Chartered Player of the Month of the season.
“It’s a really good feeling. Thanks to all of those who voted for me,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I’m just doing my thing, helping the team and happy that I can do my best.
“It (the start) was also for me a surprise but thanks to the guys and thanks to the manager. It’s easier that way if I have somebody who is helping me.
“But as I said, I’m trying to do my best, helping the team and the team is in front of everything.
“It was the first thing in my mind – how it’s going to be to play in Anfield in front of them (the supporters) or even the away games. They are always there. I’m really happy to make them enjoy.
Our Chief Liverpool writer Ian Doyle will be in position for their clash with Morecambe (7pm kick-off). The young Reds will walk out against Derek Adams’ side looking for a competition first, as mentioned on the Liverpool ECHO this morning.
For those in the UK who have a good knowledge of TV adverts, the name of the Shrimpers’ stadium will trigger a childhood or previous memory in some cases.
The Mazuma Mobile Stadium will play host to tonight’s encounter. In the late 2000’s, early 2010’s, the company Mazuma Mobile were looking for your old phone. And they would capture your attention with the catch jingle – ‘Get money for your old phone, Mazuma Mobile dot come’.
Anyway, I digress.
Under-21s manager Barry Lewtas is looking forward to the beginning of another chapter in the competition – as they’re scheduled to face Neil Critchley’s Blackpool and recently promoted, Barrow.
“It gives us an extra dimension to our games programme,” he said.
“It gives us a chance to play against senior opposition in a proper competition, so for us it just allows our boys to get that exposure to prepare them for the next step.
“Over the last couple of years we have loaned a lot of our boys out to the EFL and obviously given them that exposure as to what that level is all about, so this competition for some boys is the start of their journey.”
Jarell Quansah made his full Premier League debut at Molineux and follows the list of graduate who have come through the ranks, playing in the EFL Trophy, and playing for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The likes of Ben Doak and Stefan Bajcetic have also gone before him but there is scope for the Lewis Koumas – who enjoyed pre-season with Klopp and the first-team – Bobby Clark, a player who caught the imagination with a scintillating display against Everton U21s in their Premier League 2 opener.
There is a possibility we could see Jayden Danns in future games. He has captained Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s under-18s this season, finding the back of the net five times in his last four league appearances.

LFC Fixtures 23/24 – Who have the Reds got coming up?
Liverpool were top of the table, momentarily, after coming from behind to beat Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
There was some pre-match nerves, for some at least, as the Reds looked to brush off their poor run of results in the early Saturday kick-offs.
Let’s be frank, it was a pretty tough watch from Jurgen Klopp’s perspective at least – Gary O’Neil and those Wolves fans would argue otherwise after their showing in the first-half.
But Liverpool eventually blew off their jet-lag or whatever was hampering their performance and won 3-1, thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo, Andy Robertson and an own-goal from Hugo Bueno (although, it was Harvey Elliott’s goal wasn’t it?).
Anyway, Liverpool are back in league action on Sunday against West Ham United, they have the task of beating LASK (5pm Thursday, September 21), before then, didn’t mean to rhyme that but let’s roll with it.
