Everton look set to be presented with the perfect opportunity to sign Gabriel Jesus in the January transfer window.
The Toffees made a bright start to the Premier League season, but their recent struggles have exposed their lack of firepower at the top of the pitch once again.
Both Beto and Thierno Barry have struggled for Everton since the start of the season, with the duo notching just one league goal between them so far.
That has left Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye to shoulder the attacking responsibility for the Merseysiders, but it has quickly become clear that reinforcements are needed this winter.

Gabriel Jesus could leave Arsenal on a loan-to-buy deal
Everton made an enquiry to Arsenal over Jesus in the summer, with the Brazilian thought to be looking for a way out of North London to boost his chances of making his country’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.

However, nothing materialised for the striker on that occasion, and he is yet to make a competitive appearance under Mikel Arteta so far this season, with Viktor Gyokeres the main man leading the line.
As a result, Jesus is once again being linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium ahead of the January window, with the likes of West Ham, Fulham and Bournemouth all keen, according to MilanLive.
There is also interest in Italy in the form of AC Milan and Juventus, with the 28-year-old understood to be available on an initial loan deal, which could become an obligation to buy based on his performance.

It is currently unclear whether the former Manchester City star is still a target for David Moyes and Co., but the door appears to have been left ajar for them to swoop back in and conclude a deal if they still wish to.
Everton must be wary of Gabriel Jesus injury
A move for Jesus is unlikely to break the bank for Everton, but they must still be cautious about how they approach the deal if they want to move back in for him in January.
The frontman is still recovering from an ACL injury that he suffered at the start of 2025, and it is yet to become clear how his body will respond when he returns to competitive action.
With that in mind, if Moyes and Co. want to strike a deal when the window opens, then they must pay close attention to the final stages of his recovery process in the coming months.
The last thing that the Toffees would want is to bring a player in and then be stuck with them, unable to play after an old injury flared up once again.
Jesus is a quality player with bags of Premier League experience, but Everton cannot let that cloud there judgement if his injury is still not right.
