David Moyes is in need of reinforcements at Everton in the January transfer window.
Everton’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium taught Moyes and his players two important lessons.
The first is how ineffective Everton’s attack has been in the Premier League this season. Indeed, the Toffees and Spurs created a similar number of chances, but the latter were more clinical.
The second, which was shown through the reaction to Jordan Pickford’s poor performance against Tottenham, is the extent to which the Merseyside club are lacking defensively.
As a result, Everton may need at least five players to help them continue to perform at the highest level.

Everton interested in Real Betis defender Natan
Everton, along with several other Premier League clubs, are interested in signing Real Betis defender Natan de Souza, known as Natan.
That is according to Fichajes on 27 October, with the Spanish outlet also reporting that the Brazilian is emerging as one of the “most admired” talents at Betis, which could lead to a departure over the coming months.

The La Liga side have real faith in him, which is why they’ve set his price tag at around £26million despite having a valuation of £18m.

While he has become a key player for Betis, Everton will be relieved to know that a deal will likely be struck between both clubs if the Toffees meet the desired fee.
Would Everton benefit from Natan’s arrival?
At 24 years old, with no Premier League experience, it is understandable that some fans will be unsure about the defender.
However, he is quite experienced for his age, playing 207 competitive matches in three different leagues. Indeed, Natan has spent time in Brazil, Italy and Spain, which is a positive for the Toffees.
While he is not a defensive profile who will score many goals, his impressive aerial game and ability on the ball make him an increasingly attractive option for top clubs.
The best way to describe Natan would be ‘complete’. Indeed, he is known for his ability to play out from the back by making short, quick passes while standing firm in his defensive duels.
As a result, signing him would be a gamble, but it seems to be one worth taking.
