Richarlison’s stance on swapping Tottenham for Everton shared after confirmation from intermediaries

Richarlison has shared his thoughts on a potential return to Everton following a tricky start to the season at Tottenham Hotspur.

Next year’s World Cup is huge for Richarlison, with forward keen to secure a spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad.

Everton have also endured a frustrating start to the season with their own strikers failing to hit the ground running.

A new striker is on the radar for Everton heading into the January transfer market, Everton News understands.

It has been suggested that Tottenham could be open to selling Richarlison over the coming months as they look to revamp their own attacking options.

Everton News’ transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has now shared what he has heard about Richarlison’s stance on a possible return to Merseyside.

Earlier this week, Richarlison was described as miserable by Alan Brazil, who watched the striker in action against Monaco.

He may have scored three goals in the Premier League this season, but the 28-year-old does not cast the figure of a player enjoying his football.

Speaking to Everton News, Bailey has shared his understanding of Richarlison’s desire to return to Everton.

“Richarlison plain and simple is not off the agenda at Everton He is a top class centre forward who loves the club – so why would they not be interested,” Bailey told Everton News.

“The Friedkins had an interest in him this summer, there was some talks but the change of manager as Tottenham meant he was staying put and Richarlison firmly believes he could play his way into Brazilian World Cup contention and Carlo Ancelotti is picking him regularly.

“That said it still remains to be seen if he has a long-term future at Tottenham under Thomas Frank as Spurs are in the market for a new striker in 2026. That is the bit Everton are looking at, long-term. Come next summer – he is going to be on the agenda again, for sure.”

Even Richarlison has admitted he needs to improve following a poor early showing in the Brazil side under Carlo Ancelotti.

“Everton, as ambitious as they are, realise there is a limit at this moment to the players they can lure to the club but Richarlison they know would return – no doubt about it, they had confirmation via intermediaries that he would have come back in the summer if that was the option that emerged.

“Whilst not a January deal, Richarlison back to Everton remains in the thinking of the club and player. Am told he would love the chance to play at the new stadium for The Toffees.”

Playing with the Everton crowd behind him again could be exactly what is needed for the forward to drop his ‘miserable’ expression on display in N17.

Richarlison would offer an immediate upgrade on Beto
One thing that is very clear is Moyes is not pleased with Beto’s performances this season.

The 27-year-old has only returned one Premier League goal this season, which would instantly be upgraded with the addition of Richarlison.

A move midway through a World Cup season would prove a risk for the Brazilian, which makes it even more interesting as to what Everton may do in the January market.

Everton need a striker but it seems a move for Richarlison would come after the World Cup next summer.
