Everton have been told they cannot rely on Beto ahead of the clash with Tottenham on Saturday.
Everton face Tottenham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 26 October, with David Moyes’ side looking to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City last time out.
Beto missed a glorious chance to give Everton the lead in that clash, but he is still expected to lead the line once again.
Thierno Barry has struggled to adapt to the Premier League, so Moyes has no choice but to stick with the 27-year-old for now.

Everton told that Beto is not good enough
Beto’s woes in front of goal for Everton are well-documented, as he has scored just two goals this season in 10 appearances.

Paul Merson believes that he is not the man to take Everton forward, in a grim verdict for Evertonians and Moyes.
Writing in his predictions for Sportskeeda on 23 October, Merson went with a 2-2 draw and slammed the Guinea-Bissau forward in the process.
He said: “The problem for Everton is that they don’t have a centre-forward! No disrespect to Beto, but he’s not good enough to win games for Everton.”

How do Everton solve their striking woes?
There will be much debate over the Toffees’ transfer plans as the winter window approaches, and most of it will centre on the number nine position.
The Blues need a striker, Merson is right, they cannot rely on Beto or Barry at the moment, it is as simple as that.
If Moyes wants his side to have any chance of European qualification, he needs to enter the market again and bring in another option before the end of the season.
An Everton move for Ivan Toney has been mooted, and that would be a great signing for the Toffees, as he has still been performing at a high level in Saudi Arabia, as the Sofascore graphic below highlights.

That deal could suit both parties, as the ex-Brentford star apparently wants to return to England to try and make it into Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
It could be the difference between achieving their ambitions or falling short, so they need to act when the window reopens, and bring the 29-year-old back to English football.
