Forget Jack Grealish, Michael Keane says another Everton player has been ‘incredible’ this season

Everton take on West Ham United on Monday evening with three points needed for both sides.

Although David Moyes does not see his side battling relegation as they have in recent years, the Toffees have gone three without a win across all competitions.

Tuesday night saw Everton dumped out of the Carabao Cup against Wolves, with the likes of Jack Grealish benched from the start.

Everton are slightly concerned about their strikers not finding the back of the net on a consistent basis.

Moyes did his best on Friday to alleviate any major fears over his strikers’ output over the opening weeks of the season.

“Well, I think the team is firing. I think the team has been firing really well. Maybe the two people you are talking about haven’t scored as many as we’d like,” he said to the media.

With Everton fans looking for some inspiration in front of goal, defender Michael Keane has singled out one player for special praise.

Michael Keane wowed by one Everton teammate in particular
Amid the bright start to the season, Keane has hailed former Everton manager Sean Dyche for the work he did in keeping the club afloat.

There are a number of exciting players leading the Everton revival alongside the likes of Grealish and Keane has been wowed by one.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Keane has waxed lyrical about Iliman Ndiaye for the impact he has had since he made the return to England last year.

“I think Jack’s [Grealish] had a huge impact. I think from day one when he came in, you can see on the training pitch the quality he has and honestly on the pitch now, I just think just get the ball to him as much as possible,” said Keane. (2:37)

“Him and Ili just give them the ball. Ili has been incredible this season too and I think he was last year. He’s had to move over to the right. I think a few people might question whether he can play on the right, but he’s shown he can definitely do that. I think the way he dribbles past players is special.”

Keane is not the only one impressed by the Senegal international, with Gary Lineker also hailing Ndiaye for his Everton displays.

After speculation over the summer, Everton will feel that, in Ndiaye, they have a forward who will be the envy of clubs across Europe.

After he came on against Wolves, Grealish changed the game for Everton despite being unable to break the deadlock for the Toffees.

Between Grealish and Ndiaye, there has been a total of seven goal contributions, but Ndiaye only provided his first Everton assist last weekend in the Merseyside Derby.

It is quite sensational given how well the Senegal international has played since signing for the club.

Although he has been finding the back of the net, the assists have not followed, and there may be some blame placed on the Everton strikers who are not firing in front of goal.

Inter Milan showed an interest in Ndiaye over the summer, but Everton will do all they can to keep him around for years to come.
