This has been a running theme for Everton this season, with their signing of Grealish looking better and better as the weeks go by.
However, there was one player who Gary Lineker was also left so impressed with during Everton’s derby defeat.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers has sung Iliman Ndiaye’s praise following the Merseyside Derby.

Perhaps surprisingly, the assist at the weekend was Ndiaye’s first assist in the Premier League for Everton.
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Lineker was left wowed by the Senegal international who caused Liverpool issues all afternoon at Anfield.
“I thought particularly in the wide areas. I thought Ndiaye and Grealish, in particular, were both terrific,” said Lineker.
“Both a threat, both really, really good. It was a great finish from Idrissa Gueye,” added Alan Shearer.
The goalscorer, Gueye, also sang Ndiaye’s praise following the game after him and Grealish paired up to tee him up for the goal.
Although Everton did not have enough to take anything from the game, there are plenty of positives the Blues can carry into this week’s games across the Carabao Cup and league.

The Carabao Cup usually sees clubs make a number of changes to their starting XI, but this is a competition that Everton should be taking seriously.
Jamie Carragher was worried about Ndiaye ahead of the Merseyside Derby and that turned into reality.
Grealish has played a lot of football for Everton in recent weeks, which could potentially result in him being rested for the game on Tuesday evening.
Tyler Dibling will be desperate to get some more minutes under his belt after making another substitute appearance on Saturday.
However, Ndiaye’s performances may be going slightly under the radar with the way in which Grealish is playing.
