Wayne Rooney has admitted he used to do something at Everton which would really annoy legendary goalkeeper Neville Southall.
The former Everton forward has been speaking ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside Derby at Anfield.
David Moyes will be taking his side to the red half of the city up against the league’s most in-form side.
It is not a stadium which Everton have a great record at, and Rooney has spoken previously about his poor experiences in the Merseyside Derby.
Rooney has predicted Everton to get a result against Liverpool, but admitted that he would settle for a point right now.
Recalling some of his past experiences at Everton, Rooney has shared what he used to do to really wind up Southall.

During his second stint at the club, Rooney refused some of Sam Allardyce’s training methods, which he simply did not enjoy.
But it was something he did when he was young that Rooney did to frustrate the legendary goalkeeper, Southall.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, the 39-year-old has spoken about his relationship with the former Everton goalkeeper.
“Yeah he wasn’t happy. Well, there’s been a few times he wasn’t happy with me. In the game, it was when the mascot used to run out with the goalkeeper and you chip the ball into his hands,” said Rooney.
“He rolled it out to me and I chipped him and scored. He wasn’t happy and then he rolled it out to me again and I did it again. Yeah, he wasn’t happy with me.”
Earlier this year, Southall slammed Jordan Pickford in a truly bizarre Everton rant.
It is something which did not go down well with a lot of Everton fans who have lavished a lot of praise on the England number one.
Southall has made some questionable comments since he ended his time between the sticks for the Toffees, but his displays on the pitch were undeniable.
Rooney annoyed Southall again at Goodison Park
Duncan Ferguson has admitted Southall had some ‘strange’ ways about him after playing alongside the goalkeeper on Merseyside.
Having his routine disrupted by Rooney is clearly something that did not go down well with the Welshman.
However, there was something else which happened during an actual game that also frustrated Southall.
“I was ball boy for years at Everton. We played Newcastle United and we were losing 1-0 and we scored in the 88th minute,” said Rooney.
“So, the ball went out for a goal kick for Everton. I’m thinking 1-1 is a good result and start walking really slowly to get the ball. Neville Southall absolutely tore the life out of me to go and get the ball.”
