Everton have opened contract talks with Jordan Pickford as they look to extend his stay on Merseyside, talkSPORT understands.
The 31-year-old has two years left on his current deal and is believed to be settled and keen to sign fresh terms.

No offer has been made yet, with talks at an early and informal stage, but new Toffees owners The Friedkin Group are intent on tying the England goalkeeper down for at least another two years.
This comes after Jarrad Branthwaite agreed a new five-year deal in July – another player seen as part of their long-term project.
The Everton ownership plan to rebuff any approaches in 2026 for the England centre-back, who has missed the early part of the season with a hamstring injury.

Pickford is already one of Everton’s top earners with a salary of over £120,000 per week.

The club plan to stick to their wage structure, meaning he may not receive a significant increase in pay.
But the Freidkin Group are willing to offer incentive-driven contracts that could become more lucrative if the Toffees qualify for Europe.
Pickford is seen as an important leader and personality on and off the pitch, as well as being well known to manager David Moyes, who handed him his break in senior football at first club Sunderland.

He has certainly proven his worth so far this season, having yet to concede a goal at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Who is Everton’s highest earner?
Currently, the Toffees’ highest earner is Manchester City loanee Jack Grealish, who has a Premier League-high four assists so far, with the club open to signing him permanently next summer.
Everton believe City may lower the £50m option to buy which forms part of the loan terms.
But even if the price drops, Grealish would likely have to take a pay cut to facilitate a move.

Securing Pickford’s long-term future will surely be a priority for Everton, with the stopper establishing himself as one of their most important players in recent years.
Since joining the Toffees from Sunderland in 2017, he has gone on to play for the Merseyside club over 300 times.
As well as helping to keep his side afloat over the years, he has also established himself as a key figure with England.
