West Ham left with egg on their face after rejecting chance to buy £28m Everton star

Everton made some exciting signings over the summer and one of their top additions was rejected by West Ham United.

David Moyes knew a huge summer was needed on Merseyside in the transfer market to transform the squad.

The Friedkins backed Moyes with some quality signings, which are already paying off in the early stages of the season.

Everton have shocked a number of people across the Premier League having taken six points from a possible nine.

The clear statement from the opening weeks is Jack Grealish’s rebirth at Everton following his move from Manchester City.

However, there is another player shining on Merseyside, and West Ham must be left rueing missing out on their chance to sign him.

The midfielder has settled in on Merseyside almost instantly and he netted his first goal last time out against Wolves.

According to The Athletic, Dewsbury-Hall was offered to West Ham earlier in the summer by his former club, Chelsea.

It is claimed West Ham were offered £40m plus Dewsbury-Hall in return for Mohammed Kudus, who eventually joined Tottenham Hotspur.

The Hammers are believed to have snubbed the offer from Chelsea.

Ben Foster has been so impressed by Dewsbury-Hall, who appears to be thriving after being handed regular minutes by Moyes.

West Ham’s rejection has turned out to be a huge gain for the Blues, who have seen the 27-year-old flourish alongside Grealish.

In the end, West Ham ended up bringing in around £55m for Kudus, but they offloaded him to their London rivals.

Being offered £40m and Dewsbury-Hall, who was sold to Everton for £28m, now appears to be a big offer snubbed by the Irons.
