Everton have opened talks to extend Jordan Pickford’s contract.
Jordan Pickford is widely regarded as one of Everton’s best players and is actually closing in on Seamus Coleman’s Premier League appearance record.
Coleman is on 370 and Pickford sits on 296, so if he were to retire on Merseyside, that record would likely be broken.
Everton News have spoken exclusively to Graeme Bailey to get the very latest on his contract talks, and it’s been revealed that three Premier League clubs were actually eyeing his signature.

Bailey told Everton News that he expects Pickford to sign his new contract by January and actually revealed that three clubs were looking at him in the transfer window.
“They’re progressing with that (new contract), how long is a piece of string to a certain extent, I suspect that will be done by January, from what I’m hearing.
“It’s when it’s going to happen, not if. The thing with Pickford is that he’s never been looking to leave.

“I think it was important for Everton to convince him, not that he was looking to leave, but there has been a few clubs who might have been looking.
“The Manchester United’s of this world, the Chelsea, Newcastle even, not that he would go there with his Sunderland ties, or was unlikely too.
“But there has been opportunities for Pickford to maybe look elsewhere, but he’s not doing that and that’s massively down to the Friedkin Group since they’ve come in and showing what they are and what they’re made of for the future of the club.”
Conor Coady reckons Jordan Pickford is ‘world class’
Former Everton and England defender Conor Coady reckons Pickford is a ‘world class keeper’ and said he is so reliable.
“He gets a lot of criticism but he is just fantastic,” said Coady on the Football Daily at the Euros podcast last summer.
“I love everything about his process because he sticks to it after doing his homework and putting it on his bottle. That is why he comes up trumps and saves penalties.
“It requires research to be a top goalkeeper and penalty-saver and he does all of that.
“I have been lucky enough to play in front of him and you know you can rely on him no matter what and that is a big thing for outfield players. He can get you out of jail and I love him to bits.
“His England career has been majestic and I am over the moon for him.”
Clearly, Pickford has been worth every penny of the £30m outlaid on his signature in 2017, and David Moyes will hope he has many more years on Merseyside.
