Playing Career at Oklahoma

Coaching Journey

In 2023, Romero joined Duke University’s softball program as an assistant coach, focusing on hitting and infield development. Under her guidance, Duke achieved a 48–12 record and hosted an NCAA Super Regional for the first time in program history .

Romero’s coaching journey continued at the University of Oregon, where she reunited with former Oklahoma assistant coach Melyssa Lombardi. In her first season, she played a pivotal role in the development of Gold Glove shortstop Paige Sinicki, who was named the Pac-12’s co-Defensive Player of the Year .

Professional Playing Career

Beyond coaching, Romero has maintained an active professional playing career. She was drafted third overall in the 2019 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) Draft by the USSSA Pride and earned All-NPF honors in her debut season. Since 2020, she has been a prominent player in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), where she has set league records and consistently ranked among the top performers .
