The New York Rangers have appointed franchise legend Brian Leetch as the team’s new President of Hockey Operations. Leetch, a Hall of Fame defenseman, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Rangers history. Leetch’s illustrious career with the Rangers began in 1987 when he was drafted ninth overall. Over 18 seasons, he became the franchise’s all-time leader in assists (741) and points by a defenseman (981). He won two Norris Trophies as the NHL’s best defenseman, the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year, and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP during the Rangers’ 1994 Stanley Cup run.
