Peter Leven will take charge of Aberdeen for their game against Celtic, the club have confirmed.

But he faces a tough test in the shape of the league leaders Celtic, who have the chance to move eight points clear of Rangers at the top if the table.

“Meanwhile, the club has received positive news on the injury sustained by Slobodan Rubežić with a scan revealing he will not require surgery but will miss around 10-12 weeks of action. Stefan Gartenmann will return to training today and maybe available for selection this weekend.

“An update on the search for a new coaching team will be communicated in due course, but in the meantime Peter and Scott are fully focused on the cinch Premiership fixture and have the full support of everyone at AFC.”
