A dominant first-half performance from Arsenal saw Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus get on the scoresheet

Arsenal delivered a devastating message to their bitter rivals Tottenham ahead of this weekend’s North London Derby. An emphatic opening 38 minutes saw the Gunners put PSV Eindhoven to the sword on their Champions League return.
A seven-year exile evoked a buzz around the Emirates Stadium pre-match and it was a competition debutant who got proceedings under way. Bukayo Saka started and finished a brilliant one-two with Martin Odegaard before smashing home a right-footed shot.
The England star then turned provider, teeing up Leandro Trossard who continued his goalscoring form to double the advantage. Gabriel Jesus, making his first start of the season, completed a brutal first-half performance shortly before the break to put the game out of sight.
Tottenham Hotspur fans will not have liked what they saw just days before they make the trip to the Emirates Stadium. A relentless 45 minutes sent not only a message to Spurs, but to the rest of the Champions League that Arsenal are back.
In fairness, Tottenham fans are also in high spirits following an impressive start to the campaign. Ange Postecoglou has lifted the dark cloud that lingered over White Hart Lane due to depressing spells under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
Four wins, one draw and zero losses has Spurs supporters dreaming again and a never-say-die comeback victory over Sheffield United at the weekend further embedded that belief. One of the most anticipated North London derbies for years is set to take place on Sunday when Postecoglou and Co lock horns with Mikel Arteta’s relentless Arsenal side.
