Tennessee QB Position Preview

George MacIntyre “Not Wavering” On Tennessee Commitment
2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre (Nashville, Tenn.) has been committed to the Tennessee Volunteers for almost two months and “is not wavering,” according to reports.

Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre chose the in-state Vols over Alabama and LSU in January. It was a long recruitment that featured a whirlwind of national names, but the faces that were always in the picture resided within the state borders. Head coach Josh Heupel identified MacIntyre early and went all in on making him his quarterback.

While MacIntyre did choose the Volunteers, there was almost a calendar year between his initial decision and when he ultimately signs a national letter of intent to play college football. Many programs must worry when they get a commitment that early and fights to fend off other suitors. 247Sports’ Tom Loy recently reported on this, and the update should dismiss any concern Volunteer fans may have had.

“He is all in with the Volunteers. He is not wavering. In a time where guys are back and forth and flip-flopping, I do not see that at all with MacIntyre. He’s actually doing plenty of recruiting for the Vols. He’s got some instate targets that he’s all over in wide receiver Cameron Sparks and Radarious Jackson. Nationally, he is all over wide receivers Travis Smith Jr. and Jamie Ffrench and one of the best offensive linemen in the country in David Sanders Jr.” – Tom Loy on George MacIntyre’s commitment
