Crystal Palace could actually sign “special” £25m striker for free in 2024, Steve Parish is interested
Crystal Palace are now reportedly eyeing up a move for Leicester City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has scored five times in 15 Championship appearances this season, having stayed at Leicester following their surprise relegation last season.
The Nigeria International is being eyed up by a number of clubs with a view to a free transfer once his contract expires at the end of the season. Iheanacho has made 223 appearances for Leicester since his £25m move from Manchester City in 2017, scoring 61 and assisting 35 times.

A report from TEAMTALK has now revealed that Palace, as well as other Premier League sides including Brentford and West Ham, are keen on signing Iheanacho on a free transfer.
Leicester are eager to hand the striker a new contract in order to stop him leaving for free, but it is unclear whether he would extend his deal with the club whilst they are in the Championship.
Steve Parish appears keen to sign the attacker, who was described as “special” following a stunning goal against Palace two years ago.
What would Iheanacho bring to Crystal Palace?
It would be tough for Crystal Palace to find better value than Iheanacho on a free transfer.

He is a striker coming into his prime years with a wealth of Premier League experience under his belt, and he could inject some much-needed firepower into the Palace attack.
Although Palace are not too short of numbers at centre-forward, Iheanacho can massively increase the quality of depth options, even if he was to arrive as a squad option rather than a starter.
He is arguably an upgrade on Jean Philippe-Mateta and would add extra quality to the current roster of Odsonne Edouard and Jordan Ayew as central strikers.
Palace would face a lot of competition for his signature, but if they can land the attacker, he would be someone who can lead the line for the club regardless of who is in charge next season, as a mobile striker with an eye for goal.
