Dele Alli update emerges at Everton amid Goodison Park contract uncertainty
Dele Alli is still understood to be training with Everton in pre-season but his contract situation remains unclear, according to Alan Myers.
The attacking midfielder has joined Sean Dyche’s side for pre-season and the Toffees have reached an agreement with Tottenham which will allow them to potentially offer him a new contract.
While the Blues first-team have stepped up their preparations ahead of the season, updates around Dele have been few and far between but Sky Sports journalist Myers has responded to a supporter with an update.
Writing on X on Thursday (8 August) the fan said: “Is Dele still training with Everton? Seen nothing of his past few weeks.”
Myers quickly replied: “I believe so.”
The fan then replied: “Any word on whether a contract is likely?” to which Myers said: “Not sure tbh.”
What has happened to Dele Alli at Everton?
The situation around Dele appears to be fairly unclear, but Dyche had always suggested that the England international was a long way away from returning to first-team action at the beginning of pre-season.
Ultimately, Everton aren’t obliged to offer him minutes in pre-season games and while he remains without a contract, they’re more likely to hand those minutes to a player who will be playing in the first game of the season.

Until he gets up to match fitness, it is down to the former Spurs man to show Dyche and his coaching team that he is worth keeping around ahead of the new season with his displays in training.
I believe so
If Dele shows that he still has something to offer at this level, the Blues will almost certainly consider offering him new terms. He is a popular figure at Goodison Park and somebody that Dyche clearly thinks highly off.
Hopefully, a more concrete update will emerge from the club sooner rather than later.
