Is Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott likely to someday “re-set the market” for contracts at his position? If he is intent on doing so – thus calling into question his claim that he “doesn’t play for the money”?
That seems likely.
So, after a recent QB deal averaging $53 million annually (Jared Goff), Dak might settle in at $54 million? No, wait. What about the recent $55 million deal (Joe Burrow)? No, wait. What about the many hints that we’re talking about $60 million?
No, wait.
On the way to Dak seeking a “highest-paid-player-ever” offer, one NFL source tells CowboysCountry.com that with “patience,” Prescott’s value will hit $70 million annually.
Really … $70 million.

We have asked, Does Dak care about “the bag”? Or “The ‘Boys”? … especially in light of a recent report suggests that he feels obliged to go for big money because he feels a fraternal obligation to the next generation of quarterbacks.
We find that claim to be dubious; in fact, we’ve called it a “lie” … and again, it conflicts with Prescott’s own remarks about not “playing for the money.”
But if the report is accurate? If the Cowboys QB isn’t really serious about negotiating now because he wants to wait … and wait … and wait … while seeking to be the highest-paid player in the history of the NFL?
