However, wanting a player and convincing him to join are two completely different things, as the Toffees have learned across the last few years given their precarious position within the Premier League.
But, with things now far more secure, they can finally sell a dream to their targets, which they will seek to do with this Danish winger.
It will likely come down to negotiations on the player’s side, as this report states Napoli’s shock interest in allowing him to leave. It reads: ‘Sean Dyche’s side are also exploring a deal for Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrom with the Italian side interested in a sale of the winger.’
How good is Jesper Lindstrom?
There is no denying that, at this moment in time, Lindstrom is a distressed asset.
He has just endured one of the toughest seasons of his young career thus far, having failed to make the impact at Napoli many hoped he would after such a blistering period with Frankfurt.
However, this is exactly the kind of market where Thelwell will want to be shopping, snagging younger, less-attractive players with clear sell-on value and the potential to enjoy their best form at Goodison Park.
After all, it was just during the 2022/23 season that the 24-year-old was shining in Germany, having scored seven and assisted four in just 27 Bundesliga appearances.
So, to see him fail to find the net in the Serie A, admittedly with just two starts, is a real shame.

His price tag will be at an all-time low, and it was not long ago that he was one of the Bundesliga’s most sought-after players. This capture would represent fine business from Thelwell, should the terms of the deal be agreeable.
