There is still no solution for England’s left-back situation as they get ready for their knockout match on Sunday in Gelsenkirchen. Saka has ruled himself out as a possible replacement, so Southgate will have to choose between taking a chance on Trippier’s health, bringing Shaw back too soon, or going with someone else, like Kyle Walker, Joe Gomez, Ezri Konsa, or perhaps Saka.
