“Confident Alan Brazil Declares Early Victory for Celtic Ahead of Derby Clash with Rangers”
Alan Brazil has ridiculed Rangers and prematurely celebrated “three points already” following the announcement that Celtic would host the first derby of the season at home.
The talkSPORT presenter, a devoted Celtic fan, was thrilled with the SPFL’s fixture release this morning. The Glasgow rivals will face off for the first time this season on August 31 at Parkhead, and Brazil, already confident in a victory, taunted Rangers.
Brazil, discussing the fixture list with Gabby Agbonlahor, confidently predicted an easy win for his team and suggested that Rangers need more new signings than Celtic.
“The first Old Firm derby is on August 31 at Celtic Park. Lovely,” Brazil said. “That’s three points right away. They meet again at Ibrox on January 2. That’s a big game. It was quite close last season, wasn’t it?”
Agbonlahor added: “They need to do better in the derby games. Whenever Rangers play Celtic now, Celtic seem to be the favorites, don’t they?” to which Brazil responded: “I haven’t really kept up with the transfers because of the Euros. It’s different up there—they don’t have the same money or resources.”
Agbonlahor remarked: “Rangers probably need more signings than Celtic.”
Brazil concluded: “They do.”
