CONFIRMED: West Ham United officially announced their second summer signing.

As West Ham completes their most recent purchase, a Manchester City player reacts.

James McAtee, a teenage player for Manchester City, reacted on social media following West Ham United‘s announcement that Wes Foderingham had signed. When the goalkeeper’s Sheffield United contract expired, the Hammers announced a free transfer agreement to bring him to the team.

Former teammate and Man City prospect McAtee congratulated him on his move in a comment on the Instagram announcement photo from June 26. “All the best, brother,” he exclaimed. West Ham has officially signed Wes Foderingham. After bringing in Luis Guilherme earlier this month, the Hammers have now officially announced their second summer acquisition. Under Julen Lopetegui, the 33-year-old will function as a second or third choice, with Alphonse Areola expected to remain the Hammers’ starting striker.

After a very difficult Premier League season with the Blades the previous year, a clean split this summer was in the best interests of both sides. Although West Ham supporters aren’t as thrilled about the Guilherme deal, they aren’t too upset about the utility option being available on a free transfer.

After David Moyes left at the end of the season, Tim Steidten assumed control of transfers this summer and is operating rapidly.

Even though the window is only open for a few weeks, there have already been many ties and two agreements have been confirmed.

For the Hammers, Foderingham is a risk-free acquisition who will be useful in the locker room.
