Buffalo Bills

BREAKING: Josh Allen Secures Top Spot in Prisco’s NFL Rankings Amid Heated Debates.

It could happen much sooner than expected that Josh Allen’s new contract with the Buffalo Bills is approved.

I’m a sucker for an NFL player ranking in the offseason, and no matter who you rank or where you rank the players, there’s bound to be debate. NFL fans, myself included, love to argue, which is why I had to talk about writer Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com’s most recent article, which ranked the top 100 players in the NFL. Not only that, but he also included another 50 players as honorable mentions. Of the 150 players, only two are Buffalo Bills players, so Josh Allen, of course, made Prisco’s top 100.

“Despite the fact that he led the NFL in total yards and touchdowns (44) when adding his rushing and passing scores, it was thought that he didn’t play well. Although he does throw the ball over too frequently, he was and will once again be a strong contender for MVP (last season: No. 2).”

Allen came in second on Prisco’s list of quarterbacks, slightly ahead of number one Patrick Mahomes. This is a reasonable ranking, and I like that Prisco acknowledges Allen’s mistakes while still stating that he is a strong possibility for MVP. Too many people overlook Allen’s many admirable accomplishments in favor of focusing only on his turnovers. With a fresh group of teammates, maybe Allen can step it up this upcoming season and continue to produce touchdowns at a record-breaking rate while limiting turnovers.

Regarding the honorable mentions, I’m a little surprised that Matt Milano made it to number fifty considering how little time he spent on the field following the injury that ended his season after only five weeks. The fact that tight end Dalton Kincaid is nowhere to be seen on the list—neither in the top 100 nor among the honorable mentions—is also unexpected. Sam LaPorta, the tight end for the Detroit Lions, is, of course, ranked 58; in my prior comparison to Kincaid, I saw minimal differences. It is regrettable that LaPorta is ranked 58 while Kincaid is not included.
