Transfer Tug-of-War: West Ham and Nottingham Forest Pursue Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson.

revealed: West Ham and Nottingham Forest are trying to sign a Premier League forward.

Reiss Nelson, 24, is a wide forward for Arsenal; the Gunners are open to offers for the player as they seek to raise money for possible new signings this summer. Sources tell Football Insider that West Ham and Nottingham Forest have contacted Arsenal regarding a possible deal for Nelson.

According to sources, Nelson has expressed his desire to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer and play regular first-team football somewhere else to Arsenal.

Since the transfer market opened last week, West Ham and Forest have moved first in the competition for his signature; nevertheless, it is also thought that Brighton is intrigued. Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that Nelson, an academy graduate of the team, is valued at between £25 and £30 million by Arsenal. Under the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), any sale would be recorded as pure profit in the financial records of the London giants.

Joining the club at the age of nine, Nelson worked his way up through the ranks and into the first team. However, since making the senior team, he has struggled for playing time. Nelson wants to leave Arsenal as West Ham and Nottingham Forest make a move. In the 2023–24 Premier League season, Nelson started just once and failed to contribute to a goal in his 15 league appearances.

The 24-year-old has previously played professional football abroad while on loan with Feyenoord and Hoffenheim. Nelson is under contract until June 2027 after signing a new agreement at Arsenal in July 2023, and the club also possess the option to extend his tenure a further 12 months.

Although Arsenal is in no rush to sign a new center-forward if the right player does not become available at the right price, selling the winger will help Mikel Arteta’s transfer fund as the team looks to defeat Man City to the Premier League title next season. This was revealed by Football Insider on Monday, June 17.
