Rewa FC’s Setareki Hughes scored within three minutes, cutting in from the right and shooting past Samoa’s keeper Joel Bartley. Thomas Dunn then scored with a looping header from a Hughes cross, and Roy Krishna converted a penalty he earned in stoppage time.

Fiji continued to dominate in the second half, ultimately winning 9-1.
