“Southampton FC Sees Unprecedented Demand for Season Tickets at St Mary’s”
I don’t believe Southampton FC has ever completely sold out season tickets since moving to St Mary’s Stadium, but this year, all tickets for non-season ticket holders have been sold.
Last season’s ticket holders have until Monday, July 1st to renew their tickets. Any unrenewed tickets after this date will be offered to those on the waiting list.
It’s unclear what the exact cap on season tickets is this season, but after allocating the standard 3,000 tickets for Premier League requirements, only about 3,000 to 5,000 tickets may be available for general sale for individual games.
I can’t recall a time since we moved from the Dell in 2001 that we’ve sold out season tickets. Back at the Dell, with its 15,000 capacity, there was a waiting list. Since moving to St Mary’s, aside from a few years between 2005’s relegation and 2012’s promotion, we’ve typically had average crowds of over 30,000, but there was always spare capacity for season tickets.
This is a positive development and bodes well for the future.
