“Southampton Eyes Return of West Ham Striker Danny Ings for £6 Million”
Southampton manager Russell Martin is awaiting the possibility of signing West Ham United forward Danny Ings, as reported by the Daily Mail.
David Moyes brought Ings to West Ham from Aston Villa in early 2023, and the striker has since made 52 appearances for the club.
In the previous season, Ings started just three Premier League matches and scored one goal across 30 appearances in all competitions for West Ham.
Martin believes Ings could bring essential experience to Southampton’s squad as they return to the Premier League.
Southampton are interested in the 31-year-old striker and have already inquired about a transfer, with a suggested fee of around £6 million.
However, Southampton must wait to see if they can reacquire the forward, who played for them from 2018 to 2021.
Ings is considering his options this summer before making a decision.
He has one year left on his contract with West Ham and made 100 appearances for Southampton before moving to Aston Villa in 2021.
