“Real Betis Near Deal to Sign Romain Perraud from Southampton”
According to insidefutbol.com, after spending the 2023/24 season on loan at Nice, the French club has decided not to activate the option to buy Romain Perraud. However, there is interest from Real Betis, who are reportedly close to finalizing a deal with Southampton. With only one year left on his contract, Southampton is willing to let Perraud leave.
Reports suggest that Real Betis will pay a transfer fee of slightly over £3 million for the French player. If the deal goes through as expected, Perraud will join Manuel Pellegrini’s team for their pre-season training camp in July.
While some Southampton fans might be disappointed, the club needs to strengthen their left-back position and seek an upgrade on Perraud now that they are back in the Premier League.
