“Dolphins Make Defensive Splash: Calais Campbell In, Mathew Sexton Out”

The Dolphins officially announced the signing of defensive lineman Calais Campbell on Tuesday. In corresponding moves, they released wide receiver Mathew Sexton to clear space on the roster.

Sexton, who joined the Dolphins on January 17, previously entered the NFL with the Steelers on March 31, 2021. His recent NFL experience includes practice squad stints with the Patriots and Falcons in 2023, following time with Kansas City in 2021 and 2022.

In the spring of 2023, Sexton played for the Vegas Vipers in the XFL, where he recorded 23 receptions for 364 yards (15.8 avg.). During his collegiate career at Eastern Michigan, he amassed 100 catches for 1,335 yards (13.4 avg.) and nine touchdowns.
