“Rangers Must Increase Offer for Albion Rrahmani Following Club Official’s Statement”
As first reported by Kosovan Football on X, Rangers have been consistently linked with the Kosovo international after his impressive season in Romania.
“I can’t say from which side, but we want Rrahmani to stay with us. He is under contract and a crucial player for us, and we hope he will help us achieve our goals.
“It’s not easy to handle this situation, as offers can be tempting, but he is a level-headed and good person, so I believe we will still have him.”
Since that initial report, the Glasgow-based team has remained interested in the striker, with hopes of finalizing a deal.
However, in a recent interview with Romanian outlet Prima Sport (16 June), Rapid Bucharest president Viorel Moldovan revealed that while the club has received a bid for Rrahmani, it doesn’t meet their valuation of him.
“There is currently an offer for Rrahmani, but it doesn’t reflect his level and value,” he said.
Rangers are preparing for a major squad overhaul during the summer transfer window.
Phillipe Clement has already been active, bringing in Brazilian left-back Jefte and Clinton Nsiala as the first new additions to the squad ahead of their push for the Scottish Premier title next season.
Jefte’s arrival was anticipated, but he might play a more significant role with the first team than expected due to Ridvan Yilmaz being linked with a move away from the club.
Despite the potential departures of some players, Clement is still actively seeking to add new talent to his squad.
Thus, even though the current offer for Rrahmani does not meet the asking price, Rangers should continue pursuing him if they aim to surpass rivals Celtic next season.
The Kosovo international appeared in 26 games for Rapid Bucharest, contributing to 24 goals during that period.
He was signed by Rapid Bucharest last August for a record-breaking fee in the Kosovo SuperLeague (£515,000).
Moreover, compared to Rangers’ latest target Hamza Igamane, Rrahmani’s performance has been significantly better, potentially making him a more valuable asset for Clement’s team.
