Whilst that might represent a high fee, it is also one the Toffees might be confident of negotiating due to the unknown nature of the player.
Although very little data exits on the teenagecentre-back, Thelwell has earned the right to take a few risks having been so proficient in the market beforehand.
It is likely a move that would see the future of their backline secured for the next decade, should the 6 foot 1 colossus swiftly learn from James Tarkowski in preperation to take his place beside Branthwaite.
Already boasting five senior appearances for a club of Boca Juniors’ stature is a huge statement of his quality, as a product of an academy that has given the likes of Carlos Tevez, Ever Banega and Fernando Gaga to the footballing world.
To place his inexperience, but clear quality, beside the England U21 international could be a stroke of genius, as the 21-year-old only continues to mature far beyond his years.
Already this season he is one of Dyche’s most important players, with that notion only buoyed by his 4.7 clearances and 6.4 ball recoveries per game in the league, via Sofascore.
Upon moving to Merseyside, Anselmino would have a wealth of defensive talent to learn from and hopefully form the future of Everton for a pittance in today’s market.
