Newcastle Pursues Additional Signings Following Lloyd Kelly Acquisition.
Newcastle are reportedly focusing on additional signings after nearly finalizing a deal for center-back Lloyd Kelly, as per Sky Sports reporter Pete Graves.
The former Bournemouth player is poised to ink a five-year contract with Newcastle, reuniting with manager Eddie Howe at St. James’ Park. Graves mentioned that Newcastle had been in a prolonged pursuit of the English defender and are now “working on other deals” to aim for a top-four finish next season.
Last season, Newcastle made a return to the Champions League after 20 years but were eliminated early, finishing last in their group.
Having finished seventh in the Premier League, the Magpies missed out on European competition for the upcoming season and now face a summer filled with squad reinforcements.
The club narrowly missed securing Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, as the ex-Fulham player opted to join Chelsea on a four-year deal last week.

Newcastle Negotiates for James Trafford, Two Goalkeepers to Depart
Newcastle is in discussions to acquire Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford this summer, as exclusively reported by Fabrizio Romano.
The club is searching for a new goalkeeper following Loris Karius’s departure on a free transfer and with Martin Dubravka potentially leaving this summer.
Burnley is expected to ask for around £20 million for Trafford, who impressed by making 28 appearances in his debut Premier League season under Vincent Kompany.
According to Romano, Newcastle finds Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale too costly this summer because of their Financial Fair Play constraints.
Trafford, who moved to Burnley last summer from Manchester City, is interested in another transfer following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League.
At Newcastle, the 21-year-old would compete with Nick Pope, who sustained an injury in December and only played 15 league matches last season.
