Currently at Manchester United, Heaton played for Villa for two years after signing in 2019 for around £8 million. He was a regular under Dean Smith until a knee ligament injury at Burnley on New Year’s Day 2020 ended his season. After recovering, Heaton became a backup to Emiliano Martinez and then move to Manchester United in the summer of 2021.
