“Wolves Pounce on Braga Talent with £12.9m Offer for Gomes”.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to sign Rodrigo Gomes, a promising talent from Portugal. According to the Record (June 8th, page 21), the Midlands club has submitted a bid of approximately £12.9 million for the 20-year-old.
Wolves had a solid 2023-24 season under Gary O’Neil, finishing 14th in the Premier League with 46 points.
O’Neil aims to enhance his squad with a few quality additions this summer to improve their performance.
Rodrigo Gomes has caught Wolves’ attention due to his impressive displays in the Primeira Liga.
He began his career at Braga, making 51 appearances across all competitions and contributing to four goals.
Last season, he was loaned to Estoril, where he excelled, starting 26 matches in the Primeira Liga, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists.
Although Gomes has a contract with Braga until 2026, Wolves’ offer might persuade them to sell this summer.
At 20, Gomes has significant potential for growth. He primarily plays as a right-back but can also function as a winger.
