Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Buongiorno is Conte’s top priority for strengthening Napoli’s defense. However, Romano notes that discussions between the two clubs have not yet started.

A few weeks ago, Il Corriere dello Sport reported that Napoli had made a €40 million offer for the Italian defender.
Buongiorno, a member of Italy’s Euro 2020 squad, has been deemed invaluable by Torino President Urbano Cairo, who insists he is not for sale.
Both Milan and Tottenham have shown interest in Buongiorno, but Napoli appears to be ahead in the race for the next Torino captain, who turned down a move to Atalanta last summer.
