Italian rumors claim that Milan and Joshua Zirkzee, a striker for Bologna who “only wants” the Rossoneri, have reached a personal terms agreement. A contract regarding Zirkzee’s agent’s commission is reportedly imminent.
Because of the €40 million release clause in the contract he signed to transfer from Bayern Munich to Stadio Dall’Ara, the transfer money is not a problem. The Dutch forward has drawn a lot of interest, from teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, and Napoli. The Rossoneri and the Gunners have been leading this race since the beginning of the summer, but Sportitalia transfer specialist Alfredo Pedullà cautions that it is almost done.
The main reason for this is because Zirkzee “only wants Milan” and is willing to take a pay cut of €4.5–5 million per season, which is significantly less than what he would have made at Arsenal.
Milan faces one last Zirkzee obstacle. Resolving the commission from agent Kia Joorabchian, which was as much as €15 million, is the last outstanding matter. As Milan’s executives prepare for a meeting with the representative in London this weekend, it appears that he is willing to reduce that to about €10 million.
This season, Zirkzee led Bologna to fifth place in Serie A and scored eleven goals with four assists, helping the team qualify for the Champions League.
